Take One Day At A Time

May 26, 2011 by Suzanna Watson

I know…getting started seems like a lot of work. It’s real easy to feel overwhelmed by the process.

When this feeling sweeps over you please take my advice. Stop and take a deep breath.

This is where you want to take stock of what you are doing at the moment. Then just concentrate on one task at a time, no more.

By looking too far forward you can frustrate yourself and start to doubt if you can keep going forward. This is what stops most people from following their dream of owning a business.

One great way to avoid getting overwhelmed in the first place is to set goals for yourself. This forces you to think through each step of the process. By doing so you know how to move forward with your business in an orderly fashion.

Setting goals and timeframes for those goals is not all that hard (for some help on setting goals click here). Just determine what your goals are, then break each goal down into an easy to follow to-do list. Copy the list to your calendar and now you have a blueprint for progress. It’s that simple!

When you wake up in the morning and are getting ready for the day ahead, only look at what is on your to do list for today. Don’t look at the entire week if at all possible.

If you do you will run the risk of feeling overwhelmed yet again. You will be mentally tired before you even get to lunch. All you need to do is just take one day at a time and only concentrate on that day.

It will allow you to work more efficiently plus it will keep you from burning out. At the end of the day make your to do list for the next day. Then just start the process all over again when tomorrow comes.
