I’m writing this to all those who are just getting started or who are struggling to get the ball rolling. DO NOT GIVE UP. Success at anything takes a great big dose of commitment.
It’s not an overnight process. It’s not something you conquer in a week, month or year. It’s a constant battle that goes on and on. Even when you think you have things going in a good direction, you can slip up.
If you are having a tough time reaching your goals, you are not alone. I know as sure as I’m sitting here at my desk writing this that I struggle at many endeavors. I get all jacked up and motivated then I realize my will power to carry on is not as strong as I thought is was.
This creates set-backs. It can be a back and forth process until I get enough traction to see a goal through. Sadly, many times I just can’t make it work for one reason or another. The main reason is because I GAVE UP. Determination is what will see you through.
While I haven’t found any magic approach that works all the time, focusing on the reason why this goal is important really helps me a lot. I found that I need a goal that hits me at an emotional level. This spurs me on and helps a great deal when the chips are down. It took me a long time to learn this lesson.
So try your best to learn what is the root issue that is causing you to slip up, Mine is a lack of will power most of the time. Your issues will probably be different. But just don’t give up. Goals aren’t meant to be easy. And they are not for everyone, just those who strive to be the best version of themselves.
