Sometimes you come across quotes in books, magazines or on the Internet that you just want to share with others.

We may not always recognize the names attached to the quotes, but they tell a great story about human nature and also ring true for running a business.

Each of the following quotes can easily be applied to the cleaning business. After stumbling acrosss them this past week I thought they would make for a great post, so here we go.

I never learned anything while I was talking.
Larry King

Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.
Norman Vincent Peale

All lasting business is built on friendship.
Alfred A. Montapert

Do more than is required. What is the distance between someone who achieves their goals consistently and those who spend their lives and careers merely following? The extra mile.
Gary Ryan Blair

Happiness does not come from doing easy work but from the afterglow of satisfaction that comes after the achievement of a difficult task that demanded our best.
Theodore Isaac Rubin

If the career you have chosen has some unexpected inconvenience, console yourself by reflecting that no career is without them.
Jane Fonda

It’s not your salary that makes you rich, it’s your spending habits.
Charles A. Jaffe

Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.
Henry Ford

Profit in business comes from repeat customers, customers that boast about your project or service, and that bring friends with them.
W. Edwards Deming

There is only one boss. The customer. And he can fire everybody in the company from the chairman on down, simply by spending his money somewhere else.
Sam Walton

I put Sam Walton’s quote last because it’s the truth in any business, especially the cleaning business.
